A Taste of Pembrokeshire: Voneus Sponsors Fishguard Bay Food Festival

Sunshine, fantastic local food and a brilliant community atmosphere. Saturday 10 October was a great day in Fishguard as the Fishguard Bay Food Festival returned for another celebration of Welsh food, local producers and sustainable living.

Voneus Broadband was delighted to sponsor this year’s event, helping support a festival that brings so much of the local community together.

Sunshine, local flavours and a warm welcome

Held at Ysgol Bro Gwaun, the festival brought together more than 50 Welsh food, drink and artisan producers, showcasing fantastic businesses and produce from across Pembrokeshire and beyond.

With gorgeous autumn sunshine, an amazing selection of traders, and plenty of visitors enjoying the day, the atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish.

From delicious food and local produce to the chance to discover something new, the festival reminded us just how much our rural communities have to celebrate.

A little something from Voneus

As the event sponsor, we wanted to welcome visitors and give them something useful to take away.

We positioned our Voneus stand right at the entrance, where we welcomed festival-goers with a free reusable goodie bag, perfect for carrying all those tempting purchases from local traders.

It was a simple way to say hello, support the festival’s sustainability theme and give visitors something they could continue using long after the event.

We also enjoyed great conversations throughout the day, catching up with residents, meeting new faces, and answering questions about broadband in Fishguard, Goodwick, and the surrounding communities.

While broadband was part of the conversation, it was just as enjoyable to hear from people about their day and the fantastic local businesses they came to support.

Supporting the community beyond broadband

The Fishguard Bay Food Festival is about much more than great food.

Organised by the volunteer-led Fishguard Bay Sustainable Food Initiative, the festival celebrates local producers, encourages sustainable food choices, and supports wider community projects, including Ford Pawb, a community kitchen based at Fishguard Town Hall.

These are exactly the kinds of local initiatives we’re pleased to support.

At Voneus, we believe supporting rural communities goes beyond providing broadband. It’s also about being present, getting involved and helping the organisations and events that make these places special.

Our sponsorship of the festival builds on our continued involvement in the Fishguard area, including supporting local community organisations and attending events throughout the year.
