Voneus strengthens position as leading UK rural broadband provider through Airband acquisition
Voneus have acquired the customers and assets of Airband, strengthening their position as a leading provider of rural broadband infrastructure and services.
28th August 2026UK internet service provider Voneus, which is focused on connecting rural communities across Britain, has today announced the completion of its acquisition of the assets and customers of Airband Community Internet Limited from administration.
The acquisition further strengthens Voneus' position as a leading provider of rural broadband infrastructure and services. The enlarged business will benefit from increased scale, enhanced operational efficiencies and the ability to leverage Voneus' proven experience in integrating and operating broadband networks in rural areas.
This transaction brings Voneus coverage to 170,000 ready-for-service gigabit premises across Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) and gigabit-capable wireless technologies and grows its customer base to 60,000.
Voneus has recently expanded its product offering, introducing Netgem TV, Norton security, digital home phone and smart WiFi bundles.
Backed by Tiger Infrastructure Partners, Macquarie Capital, and Israel Infrastructure Fund, the scale that this transaction brings ensures Voneus is well-positioned to continue to enhance service delivery, support future investment and deliver long-term growth.
